Wick Farm, where the cottage is located, was once a dairy farm spanning 400 acres. The farmhouse, dating back to around 1680, has been lovingly restored by the current owners since 1986. The Stables, thought to have been built around 1800, feature local Chilmark stone construction and tiled roofs. The property retains some original farm features, such as the old well and bull pen, now filled with flowers. Sheep may graze in the field during summer, but are kept away from the property by fences and a cattle grid, creating a peaceful and picturesque setting.
In addition to its natural beauty and historical charm, the cottage's location in Salisbury offers easy access to attractions like Stonehenge and Wilton House. Families can enjoy nearby amenities such as Longleat Safari and Adventure Park, Larmer Tree Gardens, and Center Parcs Longleat Forest. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the surrounding area through activities like fishing and horse riding, making it an ideal destination for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
