Set on a picturesque road in Arundel, West Sussex, No 27 Maltravers is a charming two-bedroom cottage that sleeps four guests. The cottage features old beams, a working fireplace in the kitchen, and a spacious south-facing terraced garden, making it the quintessential English country retreat. The property is superbly decorated and well-equipped, offering both comfort and style in a surprisingly spacious setting for its size.
The large kitchen at the front of the house boasts a working open fire, while the spacious living/dining room opens up to the south-facing garden, which receives sun throughout the day. The garden is terraced with stone and brick, adorned with ceramic pots, and has various levels, making it a lovely space to relax. Guests should note that the garden is private, but a pathway leads to the town center and is shared with the next-door neighbor.
Upstairs, there are two beautiful bedrooms and a family bathroom with a bath and shower. The master bedroom offers a super-king bed that can be split into two singles, while the second bedroom has a double bed. An additional z bed can accommodate a fifth guest for an extra charge. Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the property but must not be left unattended, go upstairs, or on the furniture. There is a charge per dog for stays up to 7 days, with an additional fee for longer stays.
Guests are expected to leave the house clean and tidy at the end of their stay, with all washing up done and bins taken out. A travel cot is available for those traveling with a baby, although guests must bring their own bedding. Arundel is conveniently located, with Goodwood just a 20-minute drive away, known for its horse racing and motor racing events. The area offers a range of activities, from exploring local landmarks like Arundel Castle to enjoying the natural beauty of the South Downs National Park and Arundel Wildfowl and Wetlands Centre.
