Deben View is an elegant first-floor apartment based in Tranmer House, a place of fascinating history. It was here that its former owner, Edith Pretty, ordered the famous Sutton Hoo archaeological dig in which an Anglo-Saxon ship was discovered. You’ll have views across the fascinating land and beyond to the River Deben from its wooden verandah. And if you have a soft spot for interiors, you’ll appreciate its original features, including the period wood panelling in the living area. 

Walk around the 7th-century Royal Burial Ground before heading into the High Hall exhibition. Here, you can discover more about life in Anglo-Saxon England and who we think was buried here alongside high quality replica treasures and original Anglo-Saxon objects. Beyond the Sutton Hoo estate, Rendlesham Forest is just a 15-minute drive from here. The Suffolk coast is also close, with Orford Ness National Nature Reserve a 20-minute drive.
