Swallows Barn is a charming detached cottage located next to a working farm in Litton Slack near Cressbrook village in Derbyshire. The cottage sleeps two people in a first-floor king-size double bedroom and features a shower room on the first floor and a ground floor bathroom. The living accommodation includes a kitchen, dining room, and a sitting room with a woodburning stove and access to an outdoor patio area with furniture. Off-road parking is available for two cars, and the cottage offers stunning countryside views, making it an ideal base for exploring the Peak District.

The amenities at Swallows Barn include oil central heating, an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD player, and a selection of books and DVDs. Fuel, power, and a starter pack for the woodburning stove are included in the rent, along with bed linen and towels. Pets and smoking are not allowed on the property, and there is no phone reception due to the remote location, although a signal can be obtained by the parking space. The Peak District region offers year-round appeal with its picturesque villages, magnificent scenery, open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Cressbrook village, where Swallows Barn is located, sits on the River Wye and is home to an 18th-century mill built by Richard Arkwright. Nearby attractions include Water-cum-Jolly, a river gorge with limestone cliffs ideal for walking and rock climbing, as well as the Monsal Cycle Trail and a pub in the neighboring village of Litton. The towns of Tideswell, Bakewell, and Buxton are easily accessible from the cottage. Buxton, where the cottage is situated, offers easy access to the Peak District National Park and Derbyshire Dales National Nature Reserve, providing opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling.
