Courtyard Cottage is a charming 17th-century thatched home located in Ilminster, Somerset, in the South West of England. Recently refurbished to provide a boutique retreat, the cottage features beautifully designed interiors, luxurious bedding, and home furnishings. With whitewashed walls, oak doors, cosy bedrooms, and a fabulous courtyard, it offers a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere for up to four guests. The rural location makes it an ideal countryside escape, with plenty of nearby pubs, walking and cycling routes, and attractions to explore.
The cottage boasts two gorgeous bedrooms with deep mattresses, cotton bedding, and super fluffy pillows for a comfortable stay. The first bedroom features a French style king-sized bed, while the second bedroom can be arranged as a super king-sized double or with two single beds. The light and spacious bathroom includes a large walk-in shower. The open plan living/dining/kitchen area can accommodate four people, with comfortable sofas, a 42' flatscreen TV, and a modern, well-equipped kitchen with an electric two oven Aga, microwave, dishwasher, and more.
Outside, the cottage offers a good-sized sheltered courtyard with outdoor table and chairs for alfresco dining or relaxing. The courtyard is fully enclosed, making it perfect for small children and pets, with up to two dogs allowed at the property. Situated in the heart of Broadway, a quiet Somerset village surrounded by fields and woods, Courtyard Cottage is part of a 16th-century former farmhouse. Nearby attractions include local pubs, National Trust houses with gardens open to the public, cider producers, and the beach at Lyme Regis, just 40 minutes away. The owners live in another part of the house and are available to assist guests during their stay. Access to the cottage is convenient, just off the A303, with off-road private parking for two cars and keys left in a key safe for easy check-in.
