Nearby attractions include National Trust properties like Barrington Court, Montacute House, and Tintinhull, as well as the picturesque Somerset Levels.

The annexe can accommodate up to 3 guests and is surrounded by beautiful countryside, offering views from the courtyard and terraced gardens. Guests can unwind and dine al fresco while taking in the stunning scenery. The location of The Retreat is ideal for exploring Somerset, as well as neighboring regions such as East Devon and North Dorset, known for their charming villages and breathtaking landscapes. However, due to stairs and an open fireplace inside the property, infants and children aged 5 years and older are welcome, with supervision required in the garden.

For families with young children, a high chair and travel cot can be provided upon request, but pets are not allowed on the premises. While mobile reception may be patchy in the annexe, the garden offers better connectivity. WiFi is available for recreational use, although the speed and service may vary. In case of any difficulties or loss of service, neither the owner nor Dorset Hideaways will be held responsible.
