The Threshing Barn, located in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, is a beautifully converted brick and timber barn situated on the Attingham Park Estate. Originally built in the 1700s at Smethcote Farm, this charming countryside retreat accommodates up to six guests, making it an ideal getaway for families or groups seeking a peaceful escape in the Heart of England.

Inside, the barn features an inviting open-plan layout that includes a kitchen, dining area, and sitting room, all highlighted by a double-height ceiling and exposed brick walls. A woodburning stove adds warmth and character to the space. The ground floor hosts a double bedroom with an en suite shower, while a staircase leads to another double bedroom with its own en suite on the first floor. A second staircase provides access to a mid-level family bathroom and a twin bedroom, ensuring ample sleeping arrangements for guests.

Outside, guests can enjoy a large shared walled garden with the adjacent Smethcote Barn. The garden includes a lawn and a wildflower meadow, which promotes local wildlife. Additionally, two Dutch barns from around 1900 offer shelter and shade. The Threshing Barn also features a private screened seating area complete with a fire pit and barbecue grill, perfect for outdoor relaxation and meals.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the estate boasts numerous walking trails, and the national cycle route is conveniently located at the barn's doorstep. Guests benefit from free entry to the nearby Attingham Park’s Regency Mansion, Walled Garden, Deer Park, and Field of Play, as well as access to other National Trust properties in the vicinity. The Attingham Carriage House Café, Stables Shop, and second-hand bookshop are open daily, providing additional amenities for visitors.
