Black Lion Barn Retreat is a luxurious detached cottage located in Castle Pulverbatch near Pulverbatch, Shropshire, in the heart of England. The property boasts six bedrooms, including a super-king-size room with an en-suite shower, two super-king-size rooms, two ground-floor super-king-size rooms, and one twin room, accommodating up to twelve guests. The cottage also features a bathroom, shower room, ground-floor shower room, open-plan living space with a kitchen, dining area, and sitting area with a woodburning stove, utility room, and an activity/yoga room. Outside, there is an enclosed private patio with seating and ample off-road parking.

The amenities at Black Lion Barn Retreat include gas central heating, underfloor heating, a woodburning stove, electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, football table, two TVs, and fiber broadband/WiFi. Bed linen, towels, fuel, and power are included in the rent. The property also offers a barbecue, and guests have access to a local caterer who can deliver delicious food and a local shop that provides food hampers with local produce. The activity room can also be used as a yoga studio with classes available upon request. Please note that requests to split the super kingsize beds into twins must be made to the owner two weeks prior to the stay, and check-ins are only available on Fridays or Mondays.

Shropshire is known for its rural beauty and tranquility, with A E Housman describing it as "the quietest place under the sun." Pulverbatch, where the cottage is located, is a peaceful parish surrounded by beautiful countryside and offers excellent walking and cycling opportunities. Nearby attractions include the site of a former moated castle, Cothercott Hill, The Devils Chair, and the Stiperstones Nature Reserve. The market town of Church Stretton, often referred to as Little Switzerland, is just 10 miles away. In Shrewsbury, visitors can explore the natural beauty of the Shropshire Hills and Stiperstones Nature Reserve, as well as enjoy cultural attractions like Coleham Pumping Station and Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery. Outdoor enthusiasts can also engage in activities such as hiking, biking, and horse riding in the area.
