Located in Hawick, Scottish Borders, this unique accommodation at Westcote Glamping is situated on a working sheep farm. The Straw Trailer was created as a pandemic upcycling project, transforming a disused bail trailer base into a bespoke six-person unit with two double beds and two single beds. The trailer is quaintly decorated and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a digital-detox staycation, including a toilet, shower, full kitchen, sofa, table, and wood burner. External amenities such as a BBQ, fire pit, and sheltered table are also provided for guests' enjoyment.
Guests can bring their furry friends along, as pets are allowed with a £5 charge per dog, with a maximum of three dogs per stay. For an additional cost, guests can add one of four wood-burning hot tubs to their booking, making it the perfect relaxing retreat for families and groups of friends. The hot tubs are available for exclusive use from 5 pm until midnight and must be pre-booked. A complimentary bottle of Prosecco is provided for guests staying three nights or more.
This winterized accommodation option is available year-round, with a wood burner and sheltered decking area to keep guests warm during Scotland's snowy winters. The unit can accommodate a maximum of six adults, although eight people can book if at least two are children under 5 who can sleep on the sofa bed. The location in Hawick offers easy access to cultural highlights such as the Heart of Hawick and Borders Textile Towerhouse, as well as nearby attractions like Woodside Garden Centre and St Abbs & Eyemouth Voluntary Marine Reserve. Scott's View and Jedforest Deer & Farm Park are also recommended places to visit in the area.
