Nearby attractions include Manderston, Mellerstain, Paxton House, Ayton Castle, and the grounds of the Hirsel and Duns Castle Estate. The River Tweed provides opportunities for fishing, walking, and bird-watching, while the area's historic past can be seen in the spectacular countryside.
