Located in Coldingham, Scottish Borders, the Cedar Tiny House is a unique self-catering accommodation designed for two adults. Built in 2020 by a local joiner and the owner, this tiny house was inspired by a similar one in Alaska. The accommodation features a living area, kitchen, mezzanine bedroom, and a full toilet shower room, combining tradition and luxury in a compact space.
The Cedar Tiny House is built on a 7m trailer to road legal specifications, making it a permanent fixture at Templehall with stunning views over the fields to the sea. The interior includes a comfortable seating area with smart TV, a well-equipped kitchen with full-sized appliances, and a shower room with complimentary toiletries and Egyptian cotton towels. The mezzanine bedroom offers a comfortable double bed with adjustable bedside lights and stunning views over the sea.
In addition to the cozy interior, the Cedar Tiny House features outdoor seating, a fire pit with grill top for BBQs, and a starter bag of logs for guests to enjoy. The accommodation is kept comfortable year-round with an electric panel radiator and openable windows for fresh sea breezes. All bedding, towels, and kitchen essentials are provided, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay for guests.
The concept of tiny houses on wheels was popularized by Jay Shafer, who designed and lived in a 96-square-foot house. Shafer later founded Tumbleweed Tiny House Company and Four Lights Tiny House Company, contributing to the modern Small House Movement. The Cedar Tiny House offers a unique and memorable holiday experience in Eyemouth, with nearby attractions such as Coldingham Priory and The Swan Centre for Leisure.
