Y Bwthyn, also known as Bwthyn Capten (The Captain’s Cottage), is a charming cottage located in Newport, Pembrokeshire, Wales. Originally built in 1873 as a small farmer’s cottage, it has been fully renovated and converted into a rustic retreat with exposed wood beams, stone walls, and unique features. The cottage features a traditional Crog Loft, a mezzanine sleeping area accessed by a wooden ladder and overlooking the living space.

This delightful cottage can accommodate up to 6 guests, with a master bedroom on the ground floor, a twin bedroom upstairs, and a double bed tucked away in the mezzanine. Outside, guests can enjoy a private garden with a decking/patio area, a luxury 6 person hot tub, and garden furniture. The garden is surrounded by mature trees and shrubs, providing a secluded and relaxing outdoor space. Y Bwthyn is conveniently located within walking distance of Newport Town center, the estuary, and Parrog beach.

For larger groups, Y Bwthyn can also be rented in combination with Ty Capten, a neighboring property that sleeps up to 10 people. The cottage is situated in a rural area near the beach, with local landmarks such as Pentre Ifan Dolmen and Cardigan Castle nearby. Guests can explore the surrounding area, which offers attractions such as Dyffryn Fernant Gardens, Moorland Cottage Plants, and Melin Tregwynt Woolen Mill.
