Field End is a charming 2-bedroom cabin located in Swerford, Oxfordshire, in the heart of England near the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Originally built as a small barn, it has been extended and renovated by John to create a stylish and cozy retreat. The cabin features underfloor heating, an open fire, and a deck that extends into the surrounding countryside, providing a peaceful and picturesque setting for guests. Pets are allowed, and ample parking is available on the property.
The ground floor of Field End is easily accessible, with a ramp leading up to the open plan kitchen/living area. The two bedrooms both have king-sized beds that can be separated into singles if needed. One bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, while there is another general bathroom with a shower as well. Outside, guests can enjoy the deck with seating for 8+ guests, a BBQ, sun shade, and a hammock to relax in the natural surroundings.
Field End is part of the Great Tew Estate and is located on a site called Potato Town, which consists of a cluster of buildings separated by a garden, lane, and fields. The hosts, Pam and John, live in one of the other properties on site and are available to assist guests as needed. They are committed to reducing waste and adopting eco-friendly practices, such as air-drying linen bedding and using organic cotton whenever possible. The cabin is ideally situated for exploring the Cotswold countryside, with nearby attractions including the village of Great Tew, Soho Farmhouse, and Daylesford Organic Farmshop.
Guests will need access to a car to explore the surrounding area, with the nearest train stations in Banbury and Charlbury, both around 20 minutes away by car. Oxford is a 30-minute drive away, while Bath is an hour's drive. The cabin is also conveniently located near Chipping Norton, where shops, pubs, and cafes can be easily accessed. With its peaceful setting and convenient location, Field End offers a relaxing retreat for guests looking to explore the beauty of the Cotswolds and surrounding areas.
