Whinchat Cottage is a charming 200-year-old stone-built cottage located in Castleton, North Yorkshire, in the stunning North York Moors national park. Originally two cottages, it has been refurbished to a high standard and offers a comfortable and cosy retreat for up to 7 guests. The cottage features a living room with a log burning stove, a dining room with hand-painted furniture, and a well-equipped kitchen. Outside, there is a courtyard patio with flower beds, ideal for enjoying sunny days.

Upstairs, the cottage sleeps 6 adults and 1 small child in thickly carpeted bedrooms with new, high-quality mattresses and Egyptian cotton bed linen. Castleton is a great base for exploring the North York Moors, with amenities like a Co-op and 2 pubs within the village. The Esk Valley Walk starts in Castleton, and popular attractions like Whitby, The Moors Centre, and the North York Moors steam railway are just a short drive away.

The ground floor of Whinchat Cottage includes a living room, dining room, well-equipped kitchen, boiler/boot room with an original Victorian cell door, and a bathroom. Outside, there is a courtyard with flower beds and patio furniture. The first floor features three bedrooms and a bathroom. Amenities include wood pellet central heating, WiFi, a cot, high chair, and one well-behaved dog is welcome. On-street parking is available, and check-in time is 3pm with a check-out of 10am on the day of departure.

Located in Whitby, the cottage is in a rural area close to local landmarks like Danby Castle and Guisborough Priory.
