This large mid-Victorian town house is beautifully appointed to a high standard. It is situated on Esk Terrace, know locally as Captain's Walk, owing to the fact that throughout the 19th century the majority of the house owners were Whitby sea captains or ship magnates. The house retains many original features and is furnished with period furniture. It overlooks the River Esk and the railway where you can see steam locomotives in summer. Please note: price Goth weeks in April and October are £715.

Accommodation:
The house provides three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Steps take you to the front door. Off the entrance hallway is a book-lined study with electric fire. There is a spacious dining room with period fireplace, off which is galley style kitchen which leads to the back yard. On the first floor is an elegant drawing room with electric fire and beautiful views over the Marina. Also a bedroom with a double bed, built-in wardrobe and period fireplace. En-suite with this bedroom is a bathroom with bath, shower over the bath, toilet and washbasin. On the second floor is a large bedroom with antique furniture including a large four poster bed. The view from the bed overlooks the river. There is the owner's dressing room with fitted wardrobes and a bathroom with bath, shower over the bath, toilet and washbasin. Steep attic stairs lead to the top floor where there is an attractive bedroom with a double bed and two single beds and an en-suite shower room with power shower, toilet and washbasin.

Gas central heating - no extra charges for gas or electricity. Bed linen and towels are provided. A travel cot is available. Non-smokers only! Sorry, no pets. Private off-road parking for two cars in front of the house. There is a small but private garden with appropriate seating and barbecue.
