Located in Larpool, Whitby, North Yorkshire, Captain Cook’s Haven is a unique upside-down design cottage that sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms. The living accommodation is upstairs, offering fantastic river views, while the bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs. The cottage features one double bedroom and two twin bedrooms, with a bath and overhead shower or standalone shower. Pets are not allowed on the property.
Nestled beside the banks of the River Esk, Captain Cook’s Haven is just a mile away from the bustling seaside resort of Whitby. The cottages are privately owned, individually furnished, and well-equipped, offering an ideal touring center for exploring nearby fishing villages, sandy bays, and seaside resorts. Guests can enjoy the use of a superb indoor heated swimming pool and children's play areas on both levels of the site.
The location also provides easy access to attractions like the historic city of York, Castle Howard, and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway passes Captain Cook’s Haven, offering a scenic ride or walk along the old railway track towards Whitby or Robin Hood's Bay. Other nearby attractions include the Whitby Folk Festival, Flamingoland Theme Park, and the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway.
Facilities at Captain Cook’s Haven include free WiFi, gas barbecues, and a launderette. Please note that towels are not included, and the swimming pool is not available between 5th November 2022 and 1st April 2023. The property does not allow stag and hen parties, single-sex parties, or work parties. Additionally, pets are not allowed, except for service animals. Some cottages may have 1-2 steps into the accommodation, and there are no ramps available to hire.
