You’re also welcome to come into the house for free when open and see the impressive baroque interiors and extensive portrait collection.

From the apartment you can take a walk into Newton-on-Ouse and enjoy the village pubs, or stretch your legs with some gentle riverside walks.

You’re also only about eight miles from York city centre and a little further afield you’ll find Harrogate.
