This character cottage was built around the 1850's and is situated along the main street leading down to the railway station. It has been lovingly restored and retains many original features. Grosmont is home to the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway which runs between Whitby and Pickering. It also has a rail link to Middlesbrough along the beautiful Esk Valley line. The village has a general store, post office, cafe and a pub 'The Station Tavern' which serves food. Grosmont is just eight miles from Whitby and makes a perfect base for walking and other outdoor pursuits.
ACCOMMODATION: a few steps lead up to the front door. A small hallway leads into a cosy lounge with beamed ceiling and log burner. One step leads up to a modern, well-equipped kitchen/diner. From the kitchen a back door leads to a covered outside area ideal for storing your muddy boots, wellies and bikes. From the hallway fairly steep stairs lead up to the first floor. Off the landing are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers, the other with two single beds, wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is a shower room with double shower, washbasin and a separate toilet.
SERVICES: refrigerator with ice box, gas hob with electric oven, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. Digital TV with DVD, radio/CD player. Calor gas central heating with additional heating from the log burner in the lounge. Bed linen and a starting supply of logs are provided. Off road parking for one car at the rear of the cottage. Non-smokers only. Sorry, no pets allowed.
