The Old Chapel (Great Walsingham) (4)

Great Walsingham, Norfolk

4

Beautifully curated from traditional brick and flint, The Old Chapel in Great Walsingham is a fabulous up-to-the-minute barn conversion tucked away in a quiet loke in this pretty, peaceful village; the little sister to the nearby greater Little Walsingham. Confused? That's Normal for Norfolk!

Parts of The Old Chapel date back to 1756, and the sympathetic conversion that took place in 2019 brought this hideaway right into the 21st Century with all mod cons, a quality fitted kitchen and luxury bathrooms. Full advantage has been taken of the vaulted ceilings by adding both Velux and roof lights, maximising the light and creating a super bright and airy feel throughout. The cottage has a very relaxing and calm atmosphere, and is spread across one floor with an open-plan sitting room with french doors and kitchen area and a separate dining room with window seating and door leading to the courtyard garden. The two bedrooms (both king-size) fit to either end of the living areas and have the benefit of their own en-suite bathroom. Outside you can take your pick of two seating areas; an open one, off the kitchen; and an enclosed courtyard outside the dining room. Just across the village road, there is a popular cafe and an art gallery to browse. An easy twenty minute walk away is Little Walsingham, where there is a farm shop, two good pubs, cafes and a general store.

The Old Chapel is the perfect year round holiday hideaway for couples, friends and families. A short drive will take you to some of the most beautiful beaches, the nearest being at Wells-next-the-Sea. Explore the charming coastal towns and pretty flint villages that are dotted along the stunning North Norfolk coastline, and sample some wonderful local produce at a variety of excellent eateries.

The Old Chapel is also available as a sleeps six option: The Old Chapel (Great Walsingham).
