One well-behaved dog is allowed with prior arrangement and an additional fee of £25 per stay. The property has been recently refurbished with a new kitchen, bathroom with a walk-in shower, and outdoor firepit for BBQs.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own dog bedding and towels, as pets are not allowed on furniture or beds and should not be left unattended in the property. The owners have made improvements to the property during lockdown, including painting the front, adding new furniture, fencing, and a gravelled outdoor area with Scottish pebbles. The removal of large conifer trees in the back garden has made the space sunnier, and a new firepit allows for cosy outdoor lounging. St Margaret's Cottage provides a comfortable and convenient base for a relaxing holiday in Edinburgh.
