Number 4 Pleasant Terrace is a charming Victorian cottage located in Uppingham, Rutland, in the heart of England. Built in 1896, the cottage boasts many original features such as wood panelled walls, tiled floors, and cast iron fires. The exterior is made of honey coloured stone taken from an earlier building, with a sundial dated 1666 set into it, making it the oldest in Rutland. The interior features hand-made curtains and Austrian blinds crafted from Chinese silk.

The cottage sleeps 4 people in 1 bedroom and has a cozy open fire, perfect for winter visits. The kitchen is equipped with a sink, small electric oven with 2 hobs, microwave, and fridge freezer. The ground floor sitting room has a comfortable futon that sleeps 1 adult, and the TV has Freeview and a built-in DVD player with a large collection of DVDs. The first floor includes a fully-tiled bathroom with a spacious shower and a double bedroom with a wardrobe.

Outside, the cottage has a garden with 4 terraces, one with a pond (children must be supervised). The garden offers extensive country views of open fields across the valley, with apple trees forming a hedge on the west side. Guests are welcome to try the apples when in season (usually September) and use any vegetables grown in a small plot at the bottom of the garden. The owners live next door and provide detailed instructions for accessing the cottage, which is located in a quiet cul-de-sac within easy walking distance of the town centre.

In addition to its cozy amenities, Number 4 Pleasant Terrace is conveniently located near attractions such as Corby Tennis Centre, Priors Hall Golf Club, Rutland Water Country Park, and Rutland Water Nature Reserve. Guests can enjoy water adventures like windsurfing and motor boating, as well as outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling. The cottage provides a peaceful retreat in a rural area, making it an ideal destination for a relaxing getaway in the heart of England.
