Heath End Lodge is a former gatehouse that sits at the southern entrance to Calke Abbey. Built in 1806, the lodge is Grade II listed and boasts an open fire and large lawn area. Its intriguing pentagonal shape and large windows create a bright and spacious interior where light streams in from the open landscape.
Within easy reach of Calke Abbey and conveniently located close to East Midlands Airport, you can take advantage of the cottage's unique position and explore this beautiful building before the other visitors arrive. Later, discover some of the beautiful villages that surround the abbey and maybe stop for a drink or grab something to eat in one of the local pubs.
Further afield, the Ferrers Centre for Arts and Crafts is a fabulous place to discover a range of artisans including blacksmiths, sculptors, upholsterers and potters.
