Johns Cottage is a delightful ancient cottage tucked away on the High Street up a little brick path behind a picket fence.  It has all the advantages of a central location, being steps away from all the marvellous shops and restaurants that Cranbrook has to offer, yet is a peaceful oasis from the bustle of town with a lovely long back garden filled with flowers and birdsong.  Cranbrook is the perfect base for exploring the surrounding countryside and historic towns.  Sissinghurst, with its romantic gardens, is on the doorstep and Tenterden and Tunbridge Wells are within easy distance.  Shop: 50 yards  Pub:  50 yards  Coast:  20.7 miles

is carpeted and has a sofa and two armchairs, a chest containing a TV and DVD and an antique dresser with decorative china.  There is a magnificent inglenook fireplace with 1668 carved into the splendid oak cross beam.  It now houses a very efficient woodburner. Bedroom 1 is at the front with a wonderful original wooden floor that is delightfully uneven. The double wrought iron bedstead is carefully propped up to be level, and there are bedside tables, a chest of drawers, a decorative fireplace and colourful rugs.  A cubby hole contains dressing table,  hooks and linen basket
Bedroom 2 has a large single bed with bedside table
Bedroom 3 has bunk beds with bedside table and cupboard with hanging space

Garden: There is a decked area immediately outside the house with seating and a path leads through some old brick outbuildings into a long stretch of lawn with borders of flowers and a table and chairs set on the grass.
Parking: There is unrestricted on street parking directly in front of the cottage and the Co-op car park is opposite.
Heating: Electric night storage heating and woodburner.
Notes: Due to the steep stairs this property is not suitable for toddlers or anyone with mobility issues.
