Situated on the main road linking Freshwater and Newport, the cottage is close to footpaths leading to Newbridge, Calbourne, and the downs above Brighstone, where they connect with the Tennyson trail to Freshwater Bay. Nearby attractions include the quiet beaches of Brighstone, Brook, and Freshwater, as well as the market town of Newport and Carisbrooke Castle.

The cottage features a characterful hexagonal-shaped kitchen equipped with modern amenities such as an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, slimline dishwasher, and washing machine. The spacious open-plan lounge offers comfortable seating around a TV/DVD and an attractive dining area overlooking the stunning grounds. Both bedrooms, a double with fitted wardrobes and a twin, are located on the ground floor along with a large bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Please note there are some internal steps between rooms on the ground floor.

Outside, guests can enjoy a lovely enclosed south-facing courtyard with garden furniture, perfect for relaxing with a morning coffee or dining al fresco. A summer house is available for visitor use, and the large grounds include lawns, woodland, an attractive unfenced pond, and stream. Parking is provided on the drive for two to three cars, making this cottage an ideal base for exploring the Isle of Wight's beautiful countryside and coastal areas.
