Family Friendly Cottage Near Sandy Beaches

Isle Of Harris

8

Located in the crofting village of Northton in South Harris, Dun Eistein is a traditional family house that sleeps 8 guests in 4 bedrooms. Although closed for 2020 due to Covid-19, guests post-2021 will need to make and strip the beds while linen is provided. The house features a small garden with a picnic table, chairs, and bench, making it a comfortable and welcoming accommodation option for families. The Isle of Harris, part of the Outer Hebrides, offers a variety of landscapes from hilly terrain in the north to rocky coastlines in the east and beautiful beaches in the southwest.

The house is child-friendly and offers games, books, DVDs, and beach essentials like wellington boots, buckets, and spades. Well-behaved dogs are welcome with prior arrangement, but they are not allowed in bedrooms or on sofas due to previous damage. The surrounding village has ponies, sheep, cows, and poultry, so it is important to keep dogs under control during walks. The accommodation includes a well-equipped kitchen, lounge, sitting room, and bathrooms on both floors, ensuring a comfortable stay for guests. Oil central heating, electricity, satellite TV, and wireless internet are included in the cost.

Activities in the area include visiting beautiful sandy beaches, fishing at nearby locations, taking day trips to St Kilda for its cultural and natural heritage, and enjoying outdoor adventures like sea kayaking, sailing, and coasteering. Walking on Northton Machair, exploring Harris Tweed weaving, and visiting local attractions like TrĂ igh na Cleabhaig and MacGillivray Centre are also popular options for guests. Overall, Dun Eistein offers a cozy and well-equipped base for exploring the diverse landscapes and activities that the Isle of Harris has to offer.
