The cottage, built around 1890 with solid two-foot thick walls, is detached and all on one level, making it easily accessible. Situated in the peaceful location of Strathnacro near Balnain, Riverview is less than 3 miles from Drumnadrochit and Loch Ness, and a scenic 20-minute drive from Inverness.

Riverview Cottage is the perfect base for those seeking a quiet retreat with countryside walks or adventurous activities like climbing, biking, horse riding, or sailing. The cottage features a cozy lounge with a fireplace, a modern kitchen with dining space, and two dual-aspect bedrooms. The recently refitted kitchen is well-equipped, and the cottage also has a shower room with electric shower, toilet, sink, and shaver points. Outside, there is a private garden, parking space for three or four cars, and a small area of woodland leading to the river Enrick.

Although Riverview Cottage does not have specific disabled modifications or wheelchair access, it is all on one level with only small steps at the entrance and between the lounge and entrance hall. Grab handles have been added to assist senior guests. The cottage has been operated as a holiday let for nearly thirty years and is now managed by a local trust for the benefit of two Inverness school boys. Its simple premise is to keep life easy and honest, providing a comfortable and peaceful Highland retreat for guests to enjoy.
