Achbeag is a traditional croft house located in the remote wilderness of Arrina, Highland, Scotland. This comfortable holiday cottage has retained many original features, including exposed stonework in the sitting room and a multi-fuel stove. It offers one en-suite double bedroom and one twin bedroom, with stunning views across Loch Torridon towards the Torridonian mountains and the Western Isles. The surrounding landscapes are breathtaking, making it a perfect base for exploring the Applecross peninsula, which offers activities such as coastline exploration, mountaineering, sea kayaking, fishing, and wildlife spotting.
The small, remote village of Fearnmore is approximately 25 minutes' drive from Applecross village and Shielding. The cottage is also nearby beautiful beaches, providing a tranquil and scenic setting for a relaxing getaway. Guests should be aware that the remote location means wildlife may be present, with bats roosting in the attic during the summer and occasional mice noises. Due to COVID-19 precautions, there is a 24-hour gap between guests leaving and new guests arriving to reduce the risk of transmission.
Achbeag offers satellite broadband and is pet-friendly, making it an ideal choice for a peaceful retreat in the Scottish wilderness. The cottage's proximity to nature reserves, ancient woodlands, and local food options adds to its appeal for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Whether guests are interested in exploring the rugged coastline, observing wildlife, or simply enjoying the tranquility of the remote setting, Achbeag provides a cozy and picturesque escape in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.
