Hen Dy is the old stone built farm house on the Hafod y Llan estate where it is said that Llywelyn the Great resided when he wrote to King John to form their alliance. The cottage is cosy and comfortable and a great retreat after a day spent exploring Snowdonia.
After a hearty breakfast, head five minutes from the cottage and join up with the Watkin path, one of the walks up Snowdon and haven for birdwatchers.
Further afield, the inland resort of Beddgelert is just three miles away while the beautiful town of Betws Y Coed, with its fantastic shops, pubs and cafes, is 14 miles away from the cottage.
Self-catering cottage holidays in the UK and Ireland can still be a green option. You can have the comforts of home and the flexibility to do what you want; when you want - without the hassles of air travel!
