Converted stables in the wooded foothills of Snowdonia.
Llety Mawr is an end-of-row cottage in the newly renovated stable block of Craflwyn Hall. The stables were built at the heart of the 200-acre Craflwyn estate in the 1870s, and now offer comfortable, characterful holiday cottages in a landscape criss-crossed with trails and full of wildlife.
Llety Mawr’s front door opens into a cosy living room, with comfortable places to sit by the original fireplace. The cottage has a light-filled kitchen with a large dining table.
From the living room, a stone spiral staircase leads up to the family bathroom and three bedrooms – one double and two twins. The double has a door leading out onto original stone steps, and all the bedrooms have skylight windows.
The cottages back onto woodland, with walks from the doorstep and endless space to run around and explore the surrounding landscape. There are benches at the front of the row, shared with the neighbouring cottages.
Self-catering cottage holidays in the UK and Ireland can still be a green option. You can have the comforts of home and the flexibility to do what you want; when you want - without the hassles of air travel!
