The cottage boasts stunning views of the Rhinog and Manod mountain ranges and offers fantastic walking opportunities right from the doorstep. With a verandah overlooking the Vale of Ffestiniog, guests can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and natural beauty of the area. The cottage is a cozy artist's home filled with character, old furniture, rugs, and paintings by the owners, Noelle and Richard.

This charming cottage is a perfect escape for nature lovers, offering opportunities for walking, bird watching, mountain biking, and swimming in the nearby lake. The living room features a wood-burning stove, comfortable seating, and panoramic views of the woodland and mountains. There are books, CDs, DVDs, and videos for entertainment, making it a relaxing place to unwind and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. The cottage has been tastefully renovated and furnished in a simple style, ensuring a comfortable stay for up to five guests in three bedrooms.

Dog owners are welcome to bring one dog to Hafod y Llyn Cottage, but pets must not be left unattended and should not go on furniture. The cottage is accessed via a rough, narrow, and steep track, which may not be suitable for unconfident drivers or certain types of vehicles. A woodland pasture scheme with cows grazing the land is set to begin in 2020, aiming to create a diverse habitat for wildlife at Hafod. The cottage and parking area are fenced to keep cows out, and guests are advised to keep the gates closed.
