The cottage features an open fire, with a double and twin room on the first floor, along with a family-sized bathroom with a bath and "over the bath" Grohe shower. The living space includes a kitchen, dining area, and seating area with a traditional wood-burning stove and large glazed window offering stunning views across the valley. Underfloor heating, a flat-screen TV/DVD, and child-friendly amenities such as high chairs, travel cots, and toys are provided.
Adjacent to Jim's Barn is Jenny's Cottage, which can be interlinked. Both cottages have level access from the car park and environmentally friendly features such as a Ground Source Heat Pump, Solar PV, and Rainwater harvesting. The farm has received a 'Silver' Trip Advisor Award for its green credentials. The cottages are non-smoking and pet-free. Free WiFi is available in all cottages. Diggle House Farm has been in the same family ownership for five generations and offers flexibility for larger families or groups, with the option to rent the cottages separately or together.
The farm is located approximately one mile from the village of Diggle, which offers amenities such as pubs, a Post Office, village shop, Band Club, Children’s Activity Centre, parks, and green belt land with walking and cycling trails. Nearby villages in the Saddleworth area provide additional dining and shopping options. Local attractions include Saddleworth Museum, Lyceum Theatre, Saddleworth Golf Club, and Transpennine Real Ale Trail. Families can enjoy activities such as fishing, swimming, ecotours, and cycling in the surrounding area.
Nell's Cottage is a separate two-bedroom cottage with a South-facing walled garden. Each cottage at Diggle House Farm has its own kitchen, bathroom, living and dining areas, with soundproofed double adjoining doors between Jim's Barn and Jenny's Cottage. A complimentary pack with freshly laid eggs, tea, coffee, and milk is provided upon arrival. The cottages offer a comfortable and environmentally friendly stay, with modern amenities and a peaceful rural setting for guests to enjoy.
