Hendy Cottage is a charming stone-built property located on the outskirts of Stroud, Gloucestershire, in the heart of England. The cottage sleeps six guests in three bedrooms, including a king-size zip/link and two doubles. The living areas feature a well-equipped kitchen, a dining room with seating for six, and a cozy sitting room with a Smart TV and woodburner. Outside, there is a front enclosed courtyard with furniture and off-road parking for one car. One medium-sized, well-behaved dog is welcome, and amenities such as WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen, and towels are included in the price.
Visitors to the Cotswolds can enjoy the region's charming towns and villages built from honey-colored stone, as well as a thriving community of contemporary artists. Stroud, known as the less commercial corner of the Cotswolds, offers a bohemian atmosphere with friendly cafes, independent shops, and tempting eateries. The town also boasts a farmers' market, music and theatre events, a thriving arts scene, and a state-of-the-art cinema. Stratford Park, located on the edge of town, provides opportunities for lakeside walks, swimming, and museum visits. The surrounding countryside offers scenic valleys perfect for walking or cycling.
In terms of amenities, the cottage features gas central heating, a woodburning stove, an electric oven, a washer/dryer, a dishwasher, and a coffee machine. Highchair and travel cot are available upon request. Guests can explore local landmarks such as Museum in the Park and Chavenage House, as well as enjoy outdoor activities like golf, cycling, and hiking/biking trails. Please note that the staircase leading to the first floor is steep and curved, making it unsuitable for those with limited mobility. Check-in is from 5pm, and check-out is by 10am.
