Crafty Cottage sits beside The Old Silk Mill on Sheep Street Chipping Campden where the Arts and Crafts history of the town began. The cottage is end of terrace, neighbouring our other cottages, Number Six and Number Five. Built of local golden Cotswold Stone it has a private off road parking space beside the front door, and a private planted garden with seating & table for 2.
The cottage has a well equipped kitchen with microwave, electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine/drier, fridge (small freezer compartment). A ground floor WC, lounge area with log burner, wall mounted TV (all BT Sports channels) and dining area. It also benefits from having a landline telephone (free local & incoming calls / honesty box for other).
A staircase leads from the lounge up to a galleried bedroom with vaulted ceiling & super king size bed, ensuite with walk in shower, sink & WC. The bedroom is decorated with William Morris fabric & Antique pine furniture.
Sheep Street is just off the beautiful Medieval High Street of Chipping Campden, all pubs, restaurants, small independent shops, footpaths & historical sites are within a very short and easy walking distance. The Old Silk Mill next door to the cottage is an English Heritage Site which is still home to Harts the Silversmiths, who arrived during the Arts & Crafts Movement 1902 and welcome visitors today : on the ground floor there is a Gallery of local Arts & Crafts and a coffee shop which also serves breakfasts. For guests using public transport, the bus stop is within a 5 minute walk, and a taxi service is available at the nearest Pub.
