Penny Cottage is a traditional Cotswold cottage located in the heart of Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, near the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage has a working inglenook fireplace and has been offering guest accommodation for short breaks for almost ten years. Guests staying at Penny Cottage have access to miles of country walks from the front door, with Sudeley Castle within walking distance. The town of Winchcombe offers a variety of pubs, restaurants, independent shops, and supermarkets within a 5-minute walk.
The cottage features an enclosed garden at the rear, but note that there is no freezer and the stairs are steep. Guests will have sole use of the cottage during their stay. Parking restrictions apply outside the cottage, but there is free parking for an hour and a nearby car park for a small fee. Winchcombe is a working town surrounded by farmland, with attractions such as Cheltenham Racecourse and Prescott Hill Climb within a short distance. There are also many National Trust Properties nearby and the town is popular for walkers.
In the event of a power outage, the heating system in the cottage may reset or switch off. Guests are advised to contact the hosts, Liz or Carol, for immediate assistance. Winchcombe Folk and Police Museum, Sudeley Castle, and other cultural landmarks are nearby, offering guests a glimpse into the history and heritage of the area.
