The Stables - Tyn Cellar Barns

Located in Margam, Glamorgan, Wales, this cottage on Tyn Cellar Farm sleeps 8 people across 2 bedrooms. The cottage, one of the oldest on the farm, features red stone work dating back to the 1400s. Both bedrooms are on the ground floor, with a superking/twin bed and bunk bed in each, making it suitable for families or groups of 4 single persons. The ground floor also includes a large kitchen diner, spacious lounge, and access to a patio area with views of the Margam hills. Underfloor heating is provided by a Biomass boiler.

The stable block, previously used for the farm's shire horses, has been renovated and retains original oak stable entrances. A plaque from the Glamorgan regiment commemorates the farm's contribution of 2 horses to aid the war effort in the first World War in 1914. The Grade 4 listed Tyn Cellar Farm Cottages are part of a Grade 2 listed farm that was once part of Margam Abbey dating back to the 1200s. The cottages feature underfloor heating, free wi-fi, fitted kitchens, and super king beds that can be split into singles if required.

Guests can make use of a heated drying room, secure storage for bikes and golf clubs, and a community hall for events and yoga classes. The farm's hot water and heating are supplied by a green energy biomass boiler, and rainwater is harvested for the ducks and geese on the property. Recycling waste is encouraged, and there is a large on-site car park. Other cottages on the farm include Tyn Cellar Cottage, The Dairy, The Lodge, The Tack Room, and The Granary. The farm's location in Port Talbot provides easy access to local landmarks, attractions, and outdoor activities like windsurfing, sailing, cycling, and horse riding.
