Baillie Scott Cottage can accommodate 4 guests in its 2 bedrooms, which are located on the ground floor. One has a double bed, while the other contains a king-sized bed which can be made up as two singles if requested. Both bedrooms have their own en-suite, one with a shower over bath and the other with a walk-in shower. Also on the ground floor is a spacious entrance hall with two storage cupboards, a utility room with a washing machine and freezer, and a separate WC.
An oak staircase from the entrance hall takes you up to a comfortable open-plan living, kitchen and dining room, where there’s plenty of comfortable furniture to relax on, as well as a flatscreen TV with Freeview channels, a DVD player, an iPod dock, and even a wood-burning stove to provide that extra touch of tradition.
The fitted kitchen contains everything you need for your self-catering break, including an electric oven, an induction hob, a fridge, a microwave, and a coffee pod machine, as well as a dishwasher to make cleanup a breeze. Once the meal is ready, everyone can take a seat at the 4-person dining table.
Be sure to take advantage of those sunny days by sitting out on your own private south-facing terrace, where you’ll find outdoor furniture and a barbecue, as well plenty of gorgeous trees which provide ample countryside charm.
Baillie Scott Cottage is one of a range of luxury cottages in Fife situated in the courtyard of a listed building designed in the ‘Arts and Crafts’ architectural style. This approach puts an emphasis on traditional craftmanship, giving it a rustic, authentic feel, and the cottage has also been renovated in this way, with solid oak floors, beams and posts lending it a special ambience. The property is even named for Mackay Hugh Baillie Scott, the original architect of the main house.
Self-catering cottage holidays in the UK and Ireland can still be a green option. You can have the comforts of home and the flexibility to do what you want; when you want - without the hassles of air travel!
