Located in Borgue, Dumfries and Galloway, Kinganton Bothy is a modern self-contained studio that sleeps 4 guests and is nearby the coast. Converted from an old stone bothy in 2017, this accommodation offers a cosy sitting area with sea views, a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious king-size bed, and a bathroom with a large shower cubicle. The studio feels light and spacious with its high ceiling and is comfortable for 2 guests, but can accommodate 2 extra guests with a unique double cabin bed, ideal for children over 12.
Situated on a smallholding overlooking the sea on the Solway coast, secluded beaches and coves are just a 15-minute stroll away, with the artists town of Kirkcudbright a short drive from the property. Guests can enjoy a 20% discount for weekly stays at Kinganton Bothy. It is important to note that the property is accessible via a bumpy farm track, and there may be animals and children roaming nearby as the owners run a smallholding.
The accommodation is mostly on ground level, except for the loft bed which is accessed by a pull-out staircase and is not suitable for young children or those unsteady on their feet. The owners are currently undertaking renovation and development work at a listed site nearby, which is not audible from within the accommodation but may be heard from the patio during the day from Monday to Friday. Additionally, the WiFi at the property is slow, suitable only for email and basic web browsing.
Located in a rural area near the beach, Kinganton Bothy offers a peaceful retreat for guests looking to explore the beautiful region of Dumfries and Galloway. With its comfortable and well-equipped studio, stunning sea views, and nearby attractions, this accommodation is ideal for a relaxing getaway in the Scottish countryside.
