Situated in picturesque Anwoth, near the coast, the cottage is close to The Old Schoolhouse and Old Kirk, featured in the film "The Wickerman". Anwoth is at the heart of the scenic Fleet Valley, offering opportunities for exploring the unspoiled countryside and coastline of Dumfries and Galloway. Nearby attractions include Trusty's Hill, Cardoness Castle, and the town of Gatehouse of Fleet with its shops and cafes. The cottage itself is a traditional But 'n Ben Galloway Cottage, likely built around the early 1600s. It features a lounge/dining room with a woodburning stove, a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable double bed in the bedroom, and a bathroom with a bath and shower. Heating is provided by storage heaters, and one complimentary basket of wood for the stove is included. Additional wood is available for purchase. Short breaks are available from mid-November to mid-March, with occasional availability at other times. The cottage is dog-friendly, with one well-behaved dog allowed by prior arrangement.
