Rampisham Hill Farm Barn is situated just outside the pretty village of Hooke, and only a short drive away from the small town of Beaminster and the plethora of beaches and features of Dorset's Jurassic Coastline. It is located in a quiet yet easily accessible location within the Dorset Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
This light and airy barn has been finished to a very high standard, including a kitchen with black granite topped solid wood units arranged around a large electric range cooker. Limestone, oak and carpeted floors are all underfloor heated throughout the property. There is a level access ground floor which allows guests to relax in a large open-plan kitchen and living area, with south facing patio doors looking over the fields. A wood burning stove with logs from the farm provides additional comfort in the living area. For those in search of tranquillity, there is always the option of retreating to the light and spacious upstairs landing seating area for a quiet moment alone.
The barn layout is perfect for family groups of mixed ages (a highchair, stair gates and a cot are available on request), or friends wishing to have a break away together. All three bedrooms can have the beds arranged either as 6ft super-king or twin 3ft single beds. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor with level access and situated next to a large wet room, and both upstairs bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms.
There are excellent walks and cycle rides across the West Dorset countryside, accessible directly from the property. Local farm shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants provide Dorset delicacies to tickle your tastebuds; while local nature reserves, gardens, monuments, museums and attractions ensure you will find plenty to visit whatever the weather or time of year.
The barn is located on a working sheep farm and you are welcome to come and meet the animals during your stay, and have a tour of the on-site woollen mill where you can see the processes undertaken to get raw wool processed into finished products and yarns.
Self-catering cottage holidays in the UK and Ireland can still be a green option. You can have the comforts of home and the flexibility to do what you want; when you want - without the hassles of air travel!
