Merry Hill Barn is a unique property that was featured in the 2015 movie "Far From the Madding Crowd", based on Thomas Hardy's novel. The barn has been completely refurbished with modern comforts and amenities, including Bosch appliances in the kitchen and a 65" flat screen Freesat television in the sitting room. Despite the modern updates, the original country dwelling feel is maintained with exposed stone walls and original beams, along with cosy underfloor heating throughout.

The barn offers an 'upside-down' living layout, with three large bedrooms on the ground floor and the sitting room and kitchen area accessible via a beautiful oak staircase. The sitting room features a contemporary living flame wall-hung fire, while the kitchen boasts Minerva worktops and a large American fridge/freezer. The dining area can seat six guests at the table and three additional bar stools provide relaxed seating at the kitchen island. All bathrooms have sensor lighting and fluffy Egyptian cotton bath sheets. The hallway opens onto a lawned garden enclosed by a stone wall and five-bar gate, offering views of the beautiful Dorset landscape.

Nearby amenities include a pub, farm shop, and café just across the fields, with the charming villages of Portesham, Abbotsbury, and Langton Herring within easy reach. Guests can bring one well-behaved dog for a small additional charge, and a highchair is available upon request. Due to the thatched roof, barbecues are not allowed on the property. Internet access is provided for recreational use only, with speed and service varying depending on the owner's package.
