Located in Gillingham, Dorset, Hardy is a Scandinavian style timber framed chalet on a working dairy farm surrounded by Blue Spruce trees. Named after author Thomas Hardy, the chalet has three en-suite bedrooms and visitors are welcome to watch the milking process in the afternoons. Situated on top of a hill near West Stour village, Hardy is centrally located for easy access to many attractions in the area.

In addition to Hardy, there are three other chalets within the grounds of Stour Cross Farm - Duncliffe, Melbury, and Wessex - all sleeping six guests and surrounded by Blue Spruce Fir trees. The village of West Stour is known for its friendly atmosphere and hosts various fun fundraising events. Guests can also enjoy the local free house pub with excellent cuisine and fine ales. The chalets have their own parking and a games room with various activities including table tennis, table football, connect 4, air hockey, and a car mat with toy cars for younger guests.

Gillingham is a rural area with cultural highlights such as Gartell Light Railway and Gold Hill Museum, as well as landmarks like Shaftesbury Abbey Museum and Garden and Sturminster Newton Mill. Families traveling with children can visit Mill on the Brue and Larmer Tree Gardens, while those seeking outdoor adventures can enjoy fishing, swimming, cycling, and hiking/biking trails in the area.
