The first thing you’ll notice about 1 Heathland Cottages is its unusual design. The cladded building was once home to nurses working at a former isolation hospital nearby. Inside the three-bedroom cottage, you’ll find carefully restored rooms where its vernacular cladding remains.
You’ll be treated to beautiful views over the Purbeck Hills from the double bedroom, views so enticing you’ll soon be outside in the fresh air enjoying them on foot. Stop at the Halfway Inn on the way there, for a classic pub lunch.
Further afield, Studland and Godlingston Heath is one of the largest uninterrupted areas of rare lowland heath in the UK. Here, it’s possible to find all six types of British reptiles. From here walk down to Studland beach and catch a glimpse of the chalk stacks that rise from the sea, Old Harry Rocks.
Self-catering cottage holidays in the UK and Ireland can still be a green option. You can have the comforts of home and the flexibility to do what you want; when you want - without the hassles of air travel!
