The cottage, refurbished in a shabby chic style in 2015 with a new contemporary kitchen and bathroom in 2017, is a historic quarryman's character cottage built of Portland stone around 1810. The back bedrooms offer sea views, while the front door provides a glimpse of the sea. The fully integrated kitchen includes a washing machine but no freezer, with a washing line in the back yard for drying. The small back garden is a suntrap and ideal for relaxing while listening to the sea, with hooks for drying surf or sailing gear.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the cottage is located near the South West Coast Path and the National Sailing Academy, offering opportunities for sailing, surfing, and exploring the safe waters of Portland harbour. Nearby beach and harbourside cafes provide a picturesque setting to enjoy a meal or drink while overlooking the waters.
