Ladymeade, located in Dorchester, Dorset, is a stylish holiday home designed to provide a tranquil retreat for families, including those with disabilities. This property is part of a complex of five cottages surrounding a beautifully landscaped shared courtyard garden, ensuring guests can enjoy both peace and privacy. The site has been thoughtfully restored from its original farmyard and barn, and guests can often interact with farm animals. A wheelchair-accessible boardwalk leads from the courtyard through scenic farmland to a riverbank, which is part of a Site of Nature Conservation Interest, making it an ideal spot for peaceful picnics amidst stunning natural surroundings.

The interior of Ladymeade features a spacious open-plan living area that includes a well-equipped kitchen with rise and fall worktops and accessible appliances, making it suitable for all guests. The living area is designed for comfort, with a sitting area that has a television and a dining space with a table and chairs. High ceilings with exposed trusses contribute to the airy feel of the cottage. Accommodations include a 5' king-size master bedroom and a separate single bedroom with a 3' profiling bed, providing flexibility for different guest needs. The large accessible wet room is equipped with an overhead and adjustable shower, wash basin, and WC with support rails, ensuring convenience for all visitors.

Outside, guests can enjoy a small terrace that overlooks the picturesque courtyard garden, furnished with a garden table, bench, and chairs, perfect for relaxing in the fresh air. Ladymeade is part of Wraxall Yard, which includes four additional cottages—Kittwhistle, Lynchets, Clementine, and Lookout. These cottages can be booked together for larger groups, and a large shared room and kitchen are available for gatherings, provided that three or more cottages are reserved simultaneously. The site maintains a serene atmosphere, making it unsuitable for rowdy parties.

The surrounding village of Lower Wraxall is characterized by its charming chalk stream and features a Grade I listed building, St Mary’s Church, highlighting the area’s historical significance. The region has a long-standing agricultural heritage, with archaeological evidence of medieval farms still visible today. Visitors to the area will find a wide range of attractions to explore, catering to various interests and ensuring a fulfilling holiday experience.
