Located in the picturesque town of Colyton in the South West of England, The Leat House is a charming holiday cottage that sleeps up to 5 people in 2 bedrooms. Situated near the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this Victorian courtyard setting features contemporary brick and flint barn conversions with vaulted ceilings and beams. The cottage boasts 2 en-suite bedrooms, one with a king bed and a shower en-suite, and the other with a queen or twin bed option and a shower over the bath. There is also a sofa bed available for a child.
The spacious cottage offers dining seating for up to 6 people and comfortable seating for 7 in the lounge, complete with a woodburner for cozy winter nights in and a smart TV. The fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, cooker, microwave, and fridge with a small freezer. Additional storage is available in a chest freezer located in the games barn on the property. The cottage is mostly on one level with only 3 shallow steps inside and parking directly outside. Geothermal underfloor heating ensures a comfortable stay.
Guests can enjoy the large shared lawn with a private patio and fire bowl, as well as stunning views of the Coly Valley from every room. On-site amenities include a tennis court, games barn, fishing opportunities in a small lake and river on the farm, and a variety of bird species for nature enthusiasts to observe. The cottage is conveniently located just 15 minutes from the heritage Jurassic Coast, offering easy access to beaches in Beer, Branscombe, Lyme Regis, and Sidmouth, each rich in history. The Dorset and Somerset borders are also within a short distance.
Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome at The Leat House for an additional fee, making it an ideal choice for pet owners. The central location in Colyton provides easy access to local landmarks such as Cadhay and Marine Theatre, as well as activities like wine tasting at Lyme Bay Winery and Castlewood Vineyard.
