Combe Cottage

Nr. Bideford, Devon

In a dreamy position atop a hill in the secluded wooded valley of Peppercombe, sits this whitewashed cottage. Blending harmoniously with its leafy surroundings, you’ll be in your own little patch of tranquillity. Gentle sounds of the nearby steam ambling by as it makes its way down to the beach, echo through the garden.  

Adding to its rustic charm, many of the cottage’s original features still remain inside; from the slate floors and winding staircase to the large stone fireplace and exposed beams. 

Just a few minutes’ stroll will lead you to the pebbly foreshore and red cliffs of Peppercombe Beach. At low tide there’s a sandy expanse, so don’t forget your bucket and spade. And if surfing is your thing, the blue flag beach Westward Ho! is a 15 minute drive. 

No visit would be complete without a meander through the cobbled village of Clovelly, which is just three miles away, and the lively old port of Bideford, just four miles to the east.
