The Quillett is a 350-year-old traditional Devon thatched cottage located in Kingsbridge, Devon, in the South West of England. It sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms and features an open fire. Situated just a mile from South Milton National Trust Beach, the cottage is perfectly positioned to explore the idyllic rural area of the South Hams, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The property boasts a spacious lounge with a large inglenook fireplace, a farmhouse-style kitchen, and a sunny patio area with seating. The bedrooms have sloping ceilings and look out onto the peaceful gardens.
The cottage includes newly installed electric radiators in addition to a wood-burning stove, and bed linen and towels are provided. Guests can enjoy a complementary basket of logs for the fire during the winter season. The area surrounding South Milton village is known for its rugged cliffs, sandy coves, peaceful countryside, pretty villages, rolling hills, secretive estuaries, and dark night skies. The local National Trust beach is within walking distance, and popular attractions like Kingsbridge and Salcombe are nearby.
The South-West coast path offers beautiful walks, including routes to Hope Cove and Bantham surf beach via Thurlestone. There are plenty of activities for children in the area, as well as historical towns like Dartmouth and Plymouth to explore. The owners, Paul & Averil, bought The Quillett in 2017 and have renovated the cottage while enjoying the ever-changing scenery of the South Hams. The cottage has many steps inside and out, as well as a winding staircase with a rope hand-hold, making it unsuitable for those unsteady on their feet.
Flexible changeover days and short breaks are available at The Quillett, making it a convenient and comfortable holiday destination for those looking to experience the beauty and charm of the South Hams region. With its proximity to the beach, cultural attractions, outdoor activities, and dining options, The Quillett offers a relaxing and memorable stay for guests seeking a quintessential Devonshire experience.
