Kipscombe Belve Cottage

Lynton, Devon

2

Hidden away on a working farm in North Devon, this small, but perfectly formed cottage, is somewhere you’ll love coming back to time and time again. The surrounding area is a haven for wildlife with miles of footpaths to explore. Head out on foot or by bike and discover the Exmoor ponies and Red deer living on your doorstep.

Step through into the entrance hallway to find a simply styled open plan living room, kitchen, and dining area, followed by a bedroom and level access shower room with adjacent toilet. The cottage has been designed to be accessible for all, with level access and accessible features throughout. Although there’s no garden, there is a field opposite the cottage which you are welcome to use. However, please note that the only access is via steep steps and the field may sometimes be used to graze livestock. There’s also allocated parking for one car opposite the cottage.

This corner of Exmoor is full of narrow twisting lanes that lead to incredible views. Explore some of North Devon’s most dramatic landscapes that inspired Wordsworth, Coleridge, and Shelley from the highest sea cliffs in England, to wild open moorland. And, just a short walk from the cottage you’ll find yourself at Countisbury which has a pub, ideal if you don’t fancy cooking.

If you’re looking for unique architecture, lots of history or a stunning beach, the area around Lynmouth and Lynton has everything. Known as ‘little Switzerland’, these seaside villages, around three miles away, have rows of charming fishing cottages and shops that cluster around the pretty harbour. It's also where you'll find the nearest beach, made of fine shingle and accessible once the tide is out. Watersmeet is also worth a visit with its wooded valley, crystal-clear river tumbling down the gorge and quaint tea-room.

Kipscombe Belve Cottage and its surrounding area are perfect for getting away from it all, but if you fancied some time closer to civilization, you could head to the towns of Minehead or Barnstaple. They offer a wide range of shops, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and other attractions. You could also head further inland to discover the town of Taunton, which is steeped in history and just over an hour away from the cottage by car.

This holiday cottage is next to another one, Kipscombe Cottage, which can be sold together to allow for more people to join you on holiday. However, Kipscombe Cottage is not accessible to wheelchair users.
