Family & Pet Friendly Wheelchair Accessible Bungalow, Edge Exmoor, Sleeps 6 - 14

East Anstey, Devon

16

East Anstey Cottage in Devon, located in the South West of England, is a spacious accommodation that can sleep up to 16 guests. The property features five bedrooms, including two family rooms with bunk beds and the option for additional beds upon request. The cottage is fully wheelchair accessible with no steps inside or outside, wide doorways, and accessible toilets, making it suitable for guests with disabilities. There are two lounges, a large kitchen/diner, and parking for up to four cars outside the cottage.

Originally a cattle shed, the cottage was converted in the 1970s into a workshop building and later into a bungalow for individuals with learning disabilities and support staff. It is an ongoing project for the family who owns it, with rental prices reduced by 25% to reflect the ongoing work, especially on the exterior of the building and in certain locked rooms. Despite the renovations, all rooms have been renovated and freshly painted, with the kitchen also newly renovated. Guests are encouraged to appreciate the opportunity to stay at a discounted rate while the building's full restoration is completed.

In addition to the cottage, the family is renovating the building next door, which will become the Blackerton Ecocentre. While the building may require some work, guests can still enjoy the surrounding rural area, with local landmarks such as Tarr Steps Clapper Bridge and Caratacus Stone nearby. Nature lovers can explore Exmoor National Park and Grand Western Canal Country Park, while families can visit North Devon Hawk Walks or participate in activities such as cycling, hunting, and ecotours. Overall, East Anstey Cottage offers a unique and affordable accommodation option for guests looking to experience the beauty of Devon's countryside.
