Higher Mullacott Farm Cottages, including Dolly's Barn, are located in Ilfracombe, Devon, in the South West of England. The cottages are nestled in the foothills of the North Devon coast, offering a perfect countryside retreat to explore the wider North Devon area and Exmoor. Dolly's Barn sleeps 11 people in six bedrooms, combining period charm with modern elegance. The property features communal gardens and paddocks, as well as a children's play area on site.
The location of Higher Mullacott Farm makes it easy to explore North Devon, with beaches like Woolacombe, Croyde, and Saunton all less than a 15-minute drive away. Exmoor, with its picturesque villages and rugged landscape, is also within half an hour's drive. Dolly's Barn is ideal for larger family groups and celebrations, offering plenty of space and character with features like sloping ceilings, beams, and stone walls. The cottage includes a downstairs double bedroom with an en-suite shower room for less able-bodied guests.
Inside Dolly's Barn, guests will find a large open plan lounge/kitchen area with comfortable seating around an LPG wood burner. The fully equipped kitchen includes a large range electric oven and two fridges, while meals can be enjoyed at the wooden dining table. Upstairs, there are five additional bedrooms, including a double with an en-suite bathroom, two twin bedrooms, a single with a Victorian style day bed, and a Master Bedroom with a king-size bed and en-suite shower room. Outside, there are spaces for alfresco dining and watching children play.
For larger groups of up to 17 people, Dolly's Barn can be rented with its sister cottage, Aggie's, which sleeps up to six in three bedrooms. Unfortunately, pets and same-sex groups are not allowed at Higher Mullacott Farm Cottages. The location of the cottage in a rural area near the beach makes it a perfect base for exploring the surrounding area, including local landmarks like Arlington Court and Ilfracombe Harbour, as well as attractions like Watermouth Castle and Marwood Hill Gardens.
